Our Experience
S&L is uniquely suited as one of the premier park builders in the state. We have constructed over 50 parks and recreation projects across the state for many different cities, counties, and entities in the last 20 years.
Our experience in excavation, landscaping, and management over such a large variety of projects is unique in the industry. While we are not the only contractor that builds parks, but we are one of the only ones that has site experience, landscaping experience, building experience, design build experience and a relationship with the most qualified vendors, subcontractors and suppliers that also specialize in park construction.
While many construction management companies have managed projects, we self-perform the work, including the methodology, techniques, issues and processes involved with all the items. Additionally, our current management and staff have been involved with all of them and continue to be active in the business, so our recommendations come from years of personal experience, not just company experience.
History
We have a very diverse history of work around the state from landscaping the Governor’s Mansion, dredging the Great Salt Lake, installing water systems in remote locations, to specifically city parks. Our team has built many projects throughout Utah. Our team isn’t just a name- its years of personal experience we can apply to your project.
Background
The company was founded as a landscaping contractor in 1978 by Scott Larsen, he was joined by his brother Steve in 1985 when the company incorporated in American Fork and expanded in included excavation and general contracting to its services. They expanded the business and continued to grow and work across the state of Utah. Both continue to work with the company and help oversee that all the projects still meet the same quality and standards that has built the S&L name. Dustin continues the family tradition as the current head of operations. We’ve added other skilled employees to completement the growth of the company but maintain the backing of a personally run company. We have grown in the area, with local ties to the area. S&L currently has over 85 employees out of our Lindon office.
